The program also included:

  1. Information about the PPIP Act and the 12 Information Protection Principles
  2. Advice on how to work with the PPIP Act including internal review procedures and the management of public registers
  3. Methodology and resources for the development of privacy management plans
  4. Methodology and resources for the development of codes of practice.

The target audience were staff across all areas of NSW Health including clinical service delivery staff, research, administration and all levels of management.

The brief was to develop a training package to inform NSW Health staff and management about their obligations under the NSW Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act, 1998. The objectives of the training package were:

    • The implications for specific operational areas of NSW Health.
  2. To protect NSW Health clients and reduce the risk of breaches of the PPIP Act.
  3. To comply with NSW Health responsibilities under the PPIP Act.

In 2002, Liz was asked to develop a training program for private sector health service providers on the health information privacy amendments to the Commonwealth Privacy Act, 1988.
